Sunday the 12th of October was a lovely October day, ideal for the excursion, The Taste of Greece. This is a great excursion which enables you to see a variety of different places on the Island of Rhodes.
First visit is the Olive factory. Here you will see how they extract the oil from the olives and you will also get to sample different types of oil. After your visit here you will travel across the island enjoying the breathtaking scenery and passing through traditional villages. Next stop is a wine factory close to Embona. Here you get to taste a few(!!) of the local wines. After all that wine its time for lunch in the square in Embona. Traditional Greek food is served and maybe a bit more of the local wine!! Making your way out of Embona after lunch you travel South and visit the village of Siana . This tiny village is famous for its honey and suma. After Siana you will have a photo stop at Monolithos were you will find the remains of a castle pearched on the cliffside. Once you have taken your photos you will then travel right to the very bottom of the island to Prassonissi. Here you will be able to stand on the beach and see on one side of you the Mediterranean Sea and on the other the Aegean Sea. A great place visit for your last stop of the day. The final part of the journey you will travel back north along the east coast of Rhodes and back to resort.
This is one excursion you should put in your diary for your next visit to the beautiful island of Rhodes.
